Tom Braun, of Braun Construction, Inc., was inducted to serve a 1-year term as the President of the Iron County Home Builder’s Association at its annual Installation and Awards banquet on January 30.

Braun has served as a Board officer since 2016 filling both vice president and secretary roles, most recently as 1st Vice President under outgoing President, Adam Hahn in 2019.

Performing his final duties as 1st Vice President, Braun took the opportunity recognize outgoing president, Adam Hahn, for his service to the Association and to introduce the event’s keynote speaker, Jeff Burningham.

In Braun’s remarks, he thanked Hahn for his valuable contributions to the Association and praised his example of service.  He noted Hahn’s service to his country and community, his industry and profession, his friends and associates and, foremost, to his family.

Braun then introduced the keynote speaker for the event, businessman and philanthropist, Jeff Burningham, who also happens to be a 2020 candidate for governor of the State of Utah.

Burningham, following his keynote address, formally installed the Association’s 2020 officers and directors.  He concluded with the formal induction of Tom Braun as the Association’s president for 2020.

After the ceremonial passing of the gavel from Hahn to Braun, the new president began his tenure by outlining his goals for the Association for the upcoming year and emphasizing the benefits to both the Association and to them, as associates, when they actively exercise their membership. He thanked past leadership and current members for their involvement and dedication, both of which Braun expressed as being vital to carrying the Association’s mission forward and cited it as the reason for it’s successes to date.  He concluded his remarks by recognizing the efforts of the Board’s Executive Director, Zurl Thornock, citing his day-to-day efforts as a driving reason for the year-to-year successes the Association enjoys.

In addition to supporting the home builders in the Iron County area, the ICHBA provides industry-related consumer resources to the public, organizes annual events including the Festival of Homes and the Spring Home and Garden Fair, as well as several fundraising events and activities held throughout the year.

Braun will serve as the Board’s president through January, 2021.
